Appendix G: Summary of objectives for 2001

DPTAC wants to continue to raise the profile of the committee and make it more effective. To that end, DPTAC has set itself a challenging work programme during 2001 as outlined below.

Objective 1: to monitor and advise on the implementation of the 10 Year Plan for Transport and seek similar initiatives in the built environment.

Objective 2: to review education and training provision.

Objective 3: to undertake research into access for disabled people.

Objective 4: to further develop relations with the devolved administrations.

Objective 5: to communicate with disability groups, assisting them to influence decisions at a local level.

Objective 6: to monitor progress on travel information services.

Objective 7: to promote developments in access transport and built environments among Government, transport industries, and the general public, including disabled people.
