DPTAC Objectives for 1998

1. To raise awareness of DPTAC's role within, and secure appropriate consultation by, the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, other Government Departments, the transport industries, the voluntary sector and other relevant agencies.

2. To monitor transport policies to ensure that the mobility needs of disabled people are fully reflected and recognising Government's moves towards an integrated transport policy, offer advice on how those needs can be met in ways which are economically and environmentally sustainable.

3. To work with the DETR to ensure that DPTAC's expertise is used to best effect in the wider context of Government disability policies.

4. To progress the work programmes of the Committee's various Working Groups.
