Annual Report 1999Appendix B: Statutory references to DPTACSection 125 and Schedule 5 to the Transport Act 1985: the legislation which established the Committee and sets out its remit and general procedures. Section 70 of the Railways Act 1993: requires the Rail Regulator to consult DPTAC on his code of practice for protecting the interests of disabled rail users. Part V of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995: the Secretary of State has a statutory duty to consult DPTAC on any proposed vehicle accessibility regulations and before deciding whether to grant exemptions from accessibility regulations made under Part V in respect of taxis, public service vehicles and rail vehicles. The Scotland Act 1998 (Cross-Border Public Authorities) (Specifications) Order 1999 (1999 no. 1319) specifies DPTAC as a cross-border public authority for the purposes of the Scotland Act 1998. Section 142 of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 requires the Mayor of London to consult DPTAC when preparing or revising his or her transport strategy. Published 11 December 2000 |
