Task 7: Advise Department for Transport on the implementation of EU Regulation on the rights of disabled people travelling by air, including training issues and review of Air Access Code. Task 8: Secure movement towards amending the Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulations 2000 to cover providing audible and visual information systems on buses. Task 9: Advise Department for Transport on the implementation of the new bus concession scheme. Task 10: Secure movement towards a national (Great Britain) bus concession scheme. Task 11: Influence secondary school curriculum on inclusive environments. Task 12: Adoption of inclusive environment policies by professional institutes further to the Tomar Resolution. Task 13: Disability Awareness and Equality Training framework and generic principles for front line transport staff. Task 14: Public transport travel training research. Task 15: Inclusive transport performance index research. Task 16: Pavement parking research. Task 17: Parking Bay research. Task 18: Contribute to development of disability equality strategies. Task 19: Consult on and publish updated guidance on terminals and ferries. Task 20: Contribute to European Union review of the need for community wide legislation on the rights of persons of reduced mobility travelling by sea. Task 21: Develop and publish guidance to passengers and industry on boarding and alighting rail vehicles using ramps. In conjunction with MIU and ATOC. Re-active tasksTask 22: Respond to all other consultations of relevance to access for disabled people. Task 23: Advise on any future stages in the review of the Blue Badge Scheme. Task 24: Advise the Secretary of State on Rail Vehicle Accessibility Regulations exemption applications, and DfT on exemptions from the Code of Practice 'Train and Station Services for Disabled Passengers' including negotiations on timescales and cost implications. Task 25: Advise DfT on prioritisation criteria and implementation of Access for All Funding; the Code of Practice: Train and Station Services for Disabled Passengers Review; the Franchise Replacement Programme; and the review of Rail Vehicle Accessibility Regulations and Refurbishment Regulations. Task 26: Work with the MIU on milestones for the taxi accessibility regulations and the ergonomic design of an accessible taxi. |
